Step 1: Find a lot-find a plan (see plans)
Once you have found a lot to build on, we help you find a plan. We a have a few plans listed on or website but we also have an online portal that consists of 100's of plans. After the plan has been selected, the builder representative goes over the options and provides you with a price to construct your home. Once a contract has been signed, your plan is sent to our designer/drafter to complete the design with any changes. Once all changes have been finalized and signed off on, permits are pulled to start the construction process. This process usually takes 60-90 days.
Step 2: Selections
A unique part of the custom process is that buyers get to meet with our selections coordinator to go over the various options for the exterior and interior: brick color, stone, paint color, flooring, cabinets, appliances, lighting, etc. There are a variety of options to choose from and the coordinator guides you through those selections and once finalized, adds the selections to our web-based mobile application so that the vendors are aware of the customer's selections. Once selections are made, it is very important to limit change orders because this can be costly and hinder the build process. Step 3: The build process
Building a custom home can take 6-8 months. There's approximately 85 tasks and 5 phases that require coordination of multiple vendors. After a home has been framed, a walkthrough is scheduled with the superintendent. During the walkthrough, the customer marks the location for light switches, cable, internet and electrical outlets. The superintendent also validates the closing time frame, at which point the customer can lock their rate. As the build process continues additional walkthroughs are scheduled giving the buyer additional comfort during the construction process.
